A 2024 word cloud of outputs listed on my Google Scholar profile.
Since starting my PhD in 2012, I have published four books and over 50 research articles as well as multiple media features on a wide range of topics across the histories of medicine, science, and the environment.
Key research areas include:
the history of antimicrobial use, regulation, and resistance;
the rise of animal welfare science and activism;
the evolving use of bacteriophages in science and medicine;
the past, present, and future of typhoid control;
the development and structural biases of public health and microbiological infrastructures.
I have also (co-)authored policy, briefing, and expert reports on antibiotic innovation, no fault compensation for vaccine adverse effects, and pandemic preparedness. The reports and related academic research have been cited by the World Bank, WHO, World Economic Forum, EU Parliament, and EU Commission.
